The distribution of illicit auto parts is at an alarming rate. Bruce Foucart, director of the National Intellectual Property Rights says that counterfeit parts are smuggled into this country and are sold to independent stores, sometimes knowingly, sometimes not. These nock-off parts may not perform as well as authentic ones. They may fail with catastrophic and potentially fatal consequences.
Use care when buying inexpensive auto parts. They may be sub par or worthless.
