Drug possession charge dismissed in Milton, GA. Municipal Court

Monday, December 14, 2015, I am in the city of Milton Municipal Court defending my client against the charge of marijuana possession less than 1 ounce.
After negotiation with the prosecutor I was able to convince the court that it would be in my clients best interest to let him earn a pretrial diversion, which is an earned dismissal. In exchange for performing the following, the city of Milton will not go forward with the prosecution of the drug charge:
Volunteering certain hours to a nonprofit organization.
Completing a drug and alcohol prevention course.
Have regular drug screenings preformed and remain drug free.

This is a big win for my client because he will not have a permanent drug charge on his record. This is very important for him going forward with his life.
