School zone speed limits are slower during the hours that school it is in session. Typically the reduction is 15 mph less than the normal speed limit for a city street.
The fine for speeding is often increased in a school zone.
During the school year, one should always be aware of school zone areas. Use caution and reduce your speed in school zones. Doing so will protect our children, and protect your drivers license.
