Don't be a fool in April by failing to maintain lane!

A charge of failure to maintain lane is made against drivers who cross a solid white or a solid yellow line while on the road way.  Vehicles must remain inside the solid white or yellow line until the lines become broken.
These solid lines protect the adjacent cars, in adjacent lanes, from a driver swerving into them.

When a driver crosses a solid line he is not only breaking the law, but is placing himself and other drivers at risk for a collision.

Don't be a fool in April by crossing a solid line!

Continue to maintain the lane that your vehicle is in until you reach a portion of the lane outlined by broken lines. Then and only then is it safe for you to move into an adjacent lane.
