Don't lie for another guy about guns, you will go to jail.  If you purchase a firearm for another person who cannot legally one one, you are committing a federal felony. This felony is punishable by up to 10 years in jail.

This is a crime that is known as a straw-man purchase.
People who cannot legally own firearm may ask another person to purchase the firearm for them. This is illegal and this is what is called a straw-man purchase.

Do not risk going to jail to do a favor for a stranger, or a friend, or a family member.
Just say no!
