Shoplifting suspect kicks Alpharetta police officer in face

According to the AJC.com, an alleged shoplifter now faces obstruction and battery charges in addition to shoplifting charges.

When Alpharetta police spotted Kimberly Harvey and approached her on suspicion of shoplifting, she attempted to flee and kicked the Officer in the face.

Now the alleged shoplifter faces obstruction and battery charges in addition to shoplifting charges.

A shoplifting charge can often  be settled by negotiation with merchant and the court.

Often the offender is allowed to repay the merchant for the merchandise taken, and perform some community services, and also attend a shopping class.
