Bicyclists are legally allowed to use all roads except the interstate highways. Their slower pace may cause problems for motorists.  Always respect the bicyclist’s right to be there. Yield the right of way to a bicyclist in the same way that you would to any other motorist. If possible, make eye contact with the bicyclist, especially at intersections.
Road defects can cause more problems for bicycles than for cars. When passing a bicycle rider in your car be sure leave the bicyclist adequate room in case he has to swerve to miss a pothole or other damage in the road.
