Don't fall for fishing scams by criminals! My client recently received an email stating that his PayPal account needed some attention. These unsolicited and fraudulent emails are sent to thousands of email addresses. The crooks hope that they can entice many victims to provide sensitive information about their accounts. Once the criminals are in possession of your passwords and your account numbers they can steal your money and your sensitive account information. These emails look harmless at first glance. They may be from a friend who's computer they have hacked and taken control of. If you receive a strange email from a friend, beware of opening any attachments or providing any of your information. It is best to contact your friend my phone to verify this email. Today, I received a call from a client concerned about fraud. My client had received an email from someone pretending to be PayPal. It notified him that there was an issue with his PayPal account. He was asked to follow a number of links to clear up this issue with his PayPal account. The first thing that he realized was that he didn't have a PayPal account. He wondered if someone had opened an account in his name. He contacted me, and after looking into this email message, it was found to be fraudulent. The address for the sender was listed as (alert). This indicated that he email did not come from PayPal. Further investigation exposed that this fraudulent email was trying to get account information and credit card information from my client. Fraud has become a big business on the telephone and on the Internet. Don't fall for fraudulent schemes whose only purpose is to steal your money! Beware of fake IRS calls! I am aware of two people today, who received telephone calls from someone posing as an IRS agent. Messages were left on their answering machines. The fake phone call stated that the individual contacted owed back taxes and that a warrant was being issued for their arrest. A fake telephone number was given to both individuals to call, to stop the fake arrest warrant. Of course, the person on the other end of the line pretending to be an IRS agent, asked for money to be forwarded in the form of money orders to a certain address. By sending the money, my client was told that these supposed arrest warrants would go away. Fortunately, my clients called me before sending any money to these criminals. Internet searches about these scams, explain this story almost in every detail. Don't be fooled by these criminals, who are trying to steal your money. Do not send them any money! Always call your attorney for advice in these matters.I am aware of two people today, who received telephone calls from someone posing as an IRS agent. Messages were left on their answering machines.

Sadly, this week, there were many deaths in Georgia caused by tornadoes. If you're driving and you see a tornado, what should you do? The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or NOAA, recommends that if you see a tornado in the distance, change directions and drive at a right angle away from the tornado to a sturdy shelter. NOOA recommends, truck stops, convenient, stores or restaurants, as a place to seek shelter. When you're inside, go to the basement or a hallway without windows. Noah also recommends, that if you cannot find shelter, do not park under a highway overpass. If you must remain in your car, keep your seatbelt on, get your head below the windshield and windows. Cover your head with your floor mats, or your hands, or a blanket, if you have one.Sadly, this week, there were many deaths in Georgia caused by tornadoes.
