Pull your vehicle safely to the side of the road where you won't block traffic.

If you are stopped while driving at night, turn on your cars inside lights so that the officer can clearly see you and the inside of your vehicle.

Lower the driver's side window and place both hands on the top of the steering wheel where the officer can see them.

Do not rummage around your car looking for your documents, this may make the officer think you are trying to hide something.

When the officer presents himself at your window greet him with a friendly smile.

You will be asked by the officer to show him your driver's license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration.

It is always prudent for you to check yourself and your vehicle prior to driving to be sure that you have your  documents with you.

When you speak with the officer be polite and respectful.

If you are issued a traffic ticket accept it politely, and when you get to your destination contact an experienced traffic and DUI attorney.

If you are arrested be compliant with the officers instructions.

Upon your release you or your family member should contact an experienced traffic and DUI attorney.
