Understanding the Georgia DUI process.
The DUI laws in Georgia apply to operating any motorized vehicle in any location in Georgia.  This is irregardless of whether the vehicle is operated on public or private land.
It is not necessary for the law-enforcement officer to actually see you drive the vehicle, but there must be sufficient evidence present to show that the vehicle had been recently driven by you.
This means that you can be charged with DUI if you are found sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle parked on the road.

If you have had alcohol to drink do not get behind the wheel to sleep. Get out of the car and rest in another location. Call someone to come to you and help you get home.
