Failure to maintain lane by Alpharetta attorney Scott Miller
The traffic laws in all states in the US are basically the same pertaining to maintaining your vehicle in the appropriate traffic line. Yellow traffic lines are used to separate vehicles traveling in opposite directions. White traffic lines are used to separate vehicles traveling in the same direction.
Unbroken yellow or white traffic lines should not be crossed. As a driver you are required to maintain your vehicle within these unbroken lines.
As a driver you are permitted to cross the broken lines of a yellow or white traffic lane, as long as it is done safely.
If a law-enforcement officer sees you crossing traffic lanes illegally, you can be cited for failure to maintain lane.
