Georgia code, 40-6-24, lane direction control signals:

Vehicle traffic may travel in any lane over which a green lane direction control signal is placed  on any street or road.

A vehicle may not enter or travel in any lane over which a red signal is shown.

Any vehicle may enter a lane over with a yellow or amber signal a showing, for the purposes of making a left turn. 

If an individual is convicted of failure to obey lane direction control signals, that person will be subject to a fine and have three points added to his total at the Georgia Department of driver services.
