I appeared with my client in Gwinnett Recorders Court to defend him against exceeding the
posted speed limit.
He was ticketed for speeding 62 mph in a 45 mile per hour zone.
He is in violation of Georgia code 40-6-181, which requires drivers not exceed the posted
speed limit posted on roads and highways.
After considerable negotiation with the prosecutor, I was able to get my client’s speed reduced
to 14 over the limit and then I got his charge dismissed.
If my client had been found guilty, he would have been punished by a monetary fine
and points added to his driving record at the Georgia Department of driver services.
