I find myself in Alpharetta Municipal Court again, defending my client against a charge of hit-and-run. This particular incident happened in a parking lot at Northpoint mall.  He is accused of hitting another car in the parking lot while leaving a parking space. My client assured me that he was unaware of any collision.

Use extreme caution when entering and exiting a parking space. There may be times when your car gently nudges the car beside you.  If so not only are you responsible for the damages to the car you hit, but you are also responsible to make every effort to find the owner of the car and report the damage to him or her.
If after a reasonable search you are unable to find the owner of the vehicle you must leave your identification and contact information on the car in a place that the owner will easily see it.
