Proper passing on a 2 Lane Rd, by Alpharetta Atty. Scott Miller
When following a car on a 2 Lane Rd, you must wait until you are in a passing zone to pass the vehicle in front of you. A passing zone as indicated by a broken line in your lane adjacent to a solid  dividing line. There must be sufficient distance ahead of you so that you can complete your pass before the end of the passing zone.
When the right time arises you should check your side view and rearview mirror is to be certain there is no one attempting to pass you. Activate your left turn signal and move safely to the left of the car ahead of you. As soon you are sufficiently ahead and you can see the passed vehicle in your rear view mirror, activate your right turn signal and move carefully into the right lane and then cancel your right turn signal.
