Georgia Code 40–6-163 requires that the driver of any vehicle meeting or overtaking a school bus with its red light’s flashing and stop signs extended, must stop before reaching the school bus.
Also, every school bus driver who observes this violation is authorized and directed to record the offending vehicle’s description, license number, and time and place of the concurrence. This report shall be submitted to the local law-enforcement agency.
Do not pass a stopped school bus that is loading or unloading passengers.
The start of school signals the heavy enforcement of GA code 40–6–163 by law enforcement officers.
