I have heard numerous reasons cited for driving a vehicle without current auto insurance. The Most frequent ones are as follows: I did not have the money to pay the premium. I forgot to pay the premium. My husband pays the premium and he failed to do it. This is my boyfriend's car, and I didn't know the insurance wasn't current. This is my parent's car, and I didn't know the insurance wasn't current. This is my friend's car, and I didn't know the insurance wasn't current.
In my experience none of these excuses have worked. You may be arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle without proper insurance.
