Atty.Scott Miller Helping client who received fake IRS call.

Today I had a call from one of my clients who had received a very disturbing telephone call.

A recorded message informed my client that the criminal division of IRS had issued a warrant for his arrest. He was given a telephone number to respond to in order to stop the arrest from happening. Of course, the arrest could only be stopped by sending money to a PO Box.

This is a classic example of the IRS scam.
The call is intended to shock a person into acting quickly without giving considerable thought to the phone call.

After reading about this IRS scam on the Internet, it is often very successful and many thousands of dollars have been stolen from people who act too quickly.

If you have questions about the IRS scam, or other scams perpetrated by telephone, or on the Internet, you may contact the Alpharetta, Georgia criminal defense attorney Scott Miller at 770-408-1001.
