A telephone scam that is returning to the metro Atlanta again is the grandmother-grandfather scam. This scam has been around for a long time, and it is resurfacing because of the ease of using a computer to get almost any information.
Typically someone claiming to be the grandson or granddaughter calls the grandparents and states that he or she has been put in jail for DUI. The grandparents can save the grandchild from further embarrassment and consequences by sending a large sum of money to someone who reports to be a representative of the court.
The grandparents are urged to send the money quickly to a PO Box which turns out to be outside of the borders of the United States.

This is a complete scam.  It is designed to swindle the grandparents out of their hard earned  money.
In all probability your grandchildren are not in jail in Georgia, but they are safe in their respective homes.

Do not send money to anyone you do not know that, calls requesting money. Legitimate government officials, law-enforcement officials, and representatives of the court, will not call anyone and request money.
