Christopher Gage survived being T-boned in a car accident in Cobb County by a woman who ran a red light going 72 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Patricia Evans, age 52, of Kennesaw reportedly sped through a red light at the intersection of Pete Sailors Parkway and Cobb Parkway in the early afternoon of May 13, 2013. The posted speed limit is 55 miles per hour; Evans was traveling 72 mph when she slammed into Gage’s car. Marietta police investigated the crash for many weeks before filing charges against Ms. Evans.

Evans has been charged with reckless driving, violating a traffic control device, serious injury by vehicle, and speeding. Evans posted $5,000 bond and was released.

Christopher Gage is a coach for the stingrays cheerleading organizations and was on his way to work when he was hit. He has been in a coma for several days and spent many weeks in the hospital trying to recover. Thankfully, Gage has healed enough and was recently moved to Shepard Center to continue his recovery. Gage’s family and friends and cheerleaders are very happy that he is recovering. They have said that the crash is an eye opener to the dangers that driving can cause.

Our thoughts go out to Christopher Gage and his family while he recovers from this accident. We are grateful to the doctors who were able to save his life.
