Fighting client’s marijuana charge in Roswell City Court:
On October 31, 2018, at 8:30 AM, I appeared with my client in the Roswell City Court.
I was there to defend her against the charge of possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.
Georgia code 16-13-2(b) Says that anyone found guilty of this marijuana charge will be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by imprisonment not to exceed 12 months or a fine not to exceed $1000, or both.
After considerable negotiation with the prosecutor,  I was able to get the court to agree to a pretrial diversion, which is a hold and clear of six months on the client’s behalf.

This pretrial diversion, hold and clear, provides my client six months to complete the following:
Take a drug and alcohol evaluation and perform any required treatment.
Complete community service hours and pay a fine in exchange for the dismissal of the case.
This is an excellent result for a young teen who has her entire life ahead.
My client and her family were extremely happy with this result.

This is another happy family who are clients of the Alpharetta, Georgia drug and alcohol defense attorney Scott Miller.
